The Darius is a toecap Oxford brogue of measured formality — its closed lacing system and delicate brogue detailing held in careful balance, neither overstating nor understating its intent.
Cut from box calf leather, the upper offers a smooth, fine-grained surface with a natural lustre that deepens gradually with wear. Box calf is chrome-tanned for consistent structure and resistance, making it well-suited to a shoe that will be reached for often and kept for years.
Built on last 1708 with a pointed toe, the Darius is made to order at Andrew McDonald's workshop in The Strand Arcade, Sydney. The closed lacing keeps the vamp clean and uninterrupted — a detail that suits formal dress without demanding it.
