Description
The Opera Pump is the most formal shoe in the canon — a patent calf slipper with no lace, no buckle, no decoration of any kind. Worn with evening dress. Made at the Andrew McDonald workshop in Sydney with the same standard of construction applied to every shoe that leaves the building.
Patent calf has a mirror-polished surface that no amount of hand-polishing on regular leather can replicate — it is part of the material, not the finish. In black, it is the only acceptable sole-leather combination for formal evening dress. Andrew McDonald makes it with the same rigour applied to every shoe that leaves the workshop.
