Description
The desert boot in its most considered form — a clean, above-ankle silhouette that sits equally well with tailoring or worn denim, and only improves with time on the foot.
The upper is cut from chocolate pebble grain, a vegetable-tanned leather whose fine, irregular surface texture gives it quiet depth and a resistance to scuffing that smooth calf cannot match. The warm brown tone deepens at the creases as the leather breaks in, settling into something distinctly personal over years of wear.
Soled by Blake stitch construction and finished with single leather soles and heels from Thomas Ware & Sons, Bristol — one of the last remaining traditional sole leather tanneries. The insole, lining, and stiffeners are all leather throughout. Each pair is made at Andrew McDonald's workroom in The Strand Arcade, Sydney. A rubber top piece can be added to the leather sole for an additional $60.
