Description
The Taralga is a derby cut with a settled, unhurried presence — a shoe that asks nothing of the wearer beyond putting it on and getting on with the day.
It is made from chocolate calf leather: smooth, close-grained, and deep in tone. Calf takes a clean edge and develops a quiet, natural lustre with wear and occasional attention.
The Taralga is secured with a Goodyear welt — a construction that allows resoling and improves with age — and built on last 5239, Andrew McDonald's widest fitting last, with a broad toe box designed for all-day ease. Each pair is available from the workshop at The Strand Arcade in Sydney, or made to order to your specification.
