Description
The Ghillie is a soft shoe with a lacing system that crosses the foot rather than running up through eyelets — the laces threading through loops or kiltie fringe at the sides, tying at the ankle. A construction with roots in Highland dance that produces a remarkably close, anatomical fit. Blake stitch construction, all-leather sole, insole, heel, lining, and stiffeners.
Crimson horse leather on the Ghillie — equine hide in a vivid, saturated red. Horse leather's open grain absorbs the crimson dye with a natural variation across the surface, giving each pair a depth and intensity that a more uniform leather would not achieve.
