Description
The Asym Derby Boot carries a quiet authority — a structured silhouette with an asymmetric facing that rewards a second look without demanding one.
The upper is rendered in waxy chocolate calf, a chrome-tanned leather with a subtly waxy finish that deepens and burnishes gradually with wear. It is a brown that resists easy categorisation — rich without ostentation, darkening at the toe and heel as the leather responds to polish and time.
Built entirely from leather — upper, lining, stiffeners, and a double sole of Baker oak bark tanned leather — this boot is made by hand at Andrew McDonald's workshop in The Strand Arcade, Sydney. The sole's density and slow break-in are characteristic of English oak bark tanning, a process that rewards patience and produces a foundation that outlasts most alternatives.
