Description
The Mandal — Andrew McDonald's jointed mule — is a form that sits between a sandal and a shoe. The jointed construction allows the shoe to articulate with the foot rather than against it. Handcrafted in Sydney with all-leather construction.
Clay overdye on culatta produces a surface in the warm earth-tone spectrum — ochres, dusty terracottas, pale browns — applied over the natural culatta base to create a depth that single-colour dyeing doesn't achieve. The jointed construction means the shoe moves with the foot rather than fighting it.
