Description
A closed-lace half boot with a clean, upright silhouette — the blind lacing keeping the vamp unbroken, the ankle height adding quiet authority without weight.
The upper is cut from Vegano dip-dyed box calf, a chrome-tanned leather processed to produce a deep, graduated fade that settles into the black with a natural, slightly waxy hand. Box calf is known for its fine, tight grain and responsive surface — it takes a high polish readily and softens with wear in a way that remains structured rather than slack.
Constructed using the Blake stitch method, which draws the insole, upper and sole together in a single continuous seam for a close, low-profile build underfoot. The sole is a chestnut-tanned double leather with a leather heel, finished by hand at Andrew McDonald's workshop in The Strand Arcade, Sydney. A rubber top piece can be added to the leather sole for $70.
