Description
The Apron Derby is a study in restraint — a wide-fit oxford-adjacent silhouette with the open lacing and apron seam detail that gives the style its quiet distinction. It reads as formal without effort, and casual without compromise.
Built in choc box calf, this shoe carries the deep, burnished finish characteristic of the grain — smooth to the touch, responsive to polish, and inclined to develop a subtle patina with wear. Box calf holds its structure well over time, rewarding attentive care with a surface that only improves.
Constructed on last 5239 with a generously proportioned toe box, the shoe is made to accommodate the foot through a full day without sacrifice. Each pair is made at Andrew McDonald's workshop in The Strand Arcade, Sydney, using traditional methods consistent with his wider bespoke practice.
